God has really been dealing with me for a couple of months about the direction in my life and blog. I have always helped others when specifically asked, but mostly sewed trying to make an income. Slowly this has seemed to have changed to mostly helping others in some way. And I'm enjoying it so much more. Again I have shared this in emails and a few comments. At first I thought I was being humble by not mentioning these organizations I participate with, but I now have realized it was more about fear. What fellow bloggers think, that I'm patting myself on my back or blowing my own horn. Ladies I don't even have a horn. It's all about God and his grace, period. He is providing for me to help others in His name. Prayerfully they might come to know Christ as their Savior. Now that is humbling, that he would use me, what a privilege. Shame on me for being afraid to post about my Jesus.
As you can see I have made a choice to make God first here as well as in my life and I will gladly share what He is doing. We don't always have a choice of what circumstances come into our life, but we can choose how we react to it. I pray to be in the middle of God's plan for this blog and He will use it for a tool to further His kingdom. I welcome prayer requests at any given time. You may e-mail me if it is too personal to comment. allthingzsewn@gmail.com I will never divulge a name or exact request. But we can never have too much earnest prayer. While I can't meet your need God can.
Enjoy today's blessings
Hugs,
Hugs to you Tonia :) It's not easy to say these things on your blog, but I think you are very brave to do so. I read quite a few blogs with a great Christian message, but feel I'm not well-informed enough to discuss much myself. I don't belong to a church, and don't have much of a religious 'education'. I too tell people I will pray for them here on blogs when they are in difficulty, and I really do. Hopefully one day I will feel less awkward about sharing my beliefs myself.

Good for you, I have also been called as an intercessor, or prayer warrior. I also have just been getting back on track in my prayer life. It is a wonderful feeling to feel Gods grace. I shall pray for you. Please pray in agreement with me that my son will be delivered from drug addiction. He knows God and His word, but needs deliverance. thank you.
ReplyDeleteIt's difficult for me to start conversations about my faith with people, but like you, I gladly offer to pray for people. I'm glad you have felt this tug, or heard the still, small voice giving you direction. I've been reading a book lately about following God in this "me first" world, and putting God and his work above yourself is one of the things we are called to do. Good for you, and no, I never would have thought you were patting yourself on the back if you had been posting about it. I sense your humble spirit in your writing here. We've been wrestling with some choices too lately, which is one reason I haven't been posting much.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations - not only for loving God, but for having the courage to share your love publicly as you have just done. I, too, often offer my prayers for people I come across but have found it difficult to share my beliefs fully in a public way. God's blessings on you my friend.
ReplyDeleteHi Tonia. I never talk about my religious beliefs..and I will say they are different than yours. I DO believe in a Higher Power and I do pray. There is never a religious debate with me because I believe that everyone is entitled to their own beliefs. I respect you for following your heart in the direction you want your blog to take. Never, Never hold back when it comes to expressing your feelings for God. History is filled with stories of those who died for their love of Jesus. You honor them today with this post.
ReplyDeleteI am a relatively new blog friend and I am glad to know you. This post makes my heart happy.

Beautifully said. xx
ReplyDeleteHello! I am proud that you want to be bold in what your learning and growing in your walk with the Lord. Yes we can use everything we do to be a bit of salt and light. I think we need to have every aspect of our lives touched by Him. So then we can be used in everything we do. In our homes and families our sewing and crafting! To Him be all honor and glory! Yet, we can have liberty and grace to one another!
ReplyDeleteGreat post!
