A new adventure

Hello all,  I been sewing a little, actually more than usual lately. I'm finally finished emptying out  the old shop and try to find a place to put the fabric I had stored there.  That is a chore in itself.  Another day.  Now My new adventure,  I was included in a co-op of ladies that run a craft shop in Bardstown Kentucky.  About 45 minutes away from my home.  Don and I visited last November for a couple of days of R&R.  I fell in love with this shop.  So friendly and all great work with many mediums.  I just called out of the blue a couple of days ago to see if they had any openings coming up, she told me to send pictures.  Friday she said I would fit in nicely.  So in two weeks I'm going to set up my space at
the Artists Barrell.

https://www.facebook.com/artists.barrel/timeline

Here are a few things I have finished this week, to add to what I already had ready for etsy.  Which I having second thoughts about.  But I'm still thinkin.  The set of bears were made of vintage corduroy. One being a pair of mens slacks and the other was a women's skort.  Anyone remember those?  The Babushka was adorned with parts of a ladies brooch.  A lot of bling, I'm having trouble getting it to show in pictures though.

Needless to say I'm excited about the whole thing and it has my creative juices flowing again.  This week I'm adding a owl and a doll that would be safe for an infant.

Well I'm closing with a video of an amazing group of vocals I think you will enjoy.  I now they amazed me.       Hotel California Acapella Mix Beatbox

We Support You

Welcome to the "WE support You" blog hop, I'll take this opportunity to thank Mdmme Samm and Pat for all the preparation they have went to  for this hop. Great job ladies.

I have never went through so many different emotions on one hop before.  So glad I joined with these heart warming ladies. There have been many beautiful projects.  I have made this quilted throw in support for my niece Allison, for the battle she is going through with this horrible disease. She is in her early 30's and has three beautiful girls.  She lives in Tok Alaska, so needless to say I don't get to see them in person.  I guess you could always use an extra blanket there.

The backing is flannel and as you can see I still have to hand stitch the border down.  I'm going to try and get it in the mail friday.  Please be sure and visit all the ladies on today's schedule and I included the whole list in case you missed a day.

Please support the recipients of these made from the heart gifts with your prayers.

If you should like to purchase this pattern, which was provided by Mdmme Sammm go to

The "We Support You" Friendship Quilt Pattern
for $12.00 by emailing Madame Samm directly at madamesamm@me.com)

Here are today's bloggers.  Enjoy!

Grow Your Own Blog

Hello Ladies and any Gentleman that may be joining in.

My name is Tonia and I'm always ready to make new friends.  I have just retired three weeks ago and I'm ready to sew, blog and farm full time.  Our farming is basically raising chickens (the girls) and a personal vegetable garden.  I'll be sharing a little of that, and then a little of the sewing and quilting, and of course pictures of what goes on around home and what few times we do leave the farm.  I just started blogging last year so that I would half way know what blogging was about when I had time to do so.  So, I am off and running.  I want to thank Vicki for taking this on yet another year, and all of her wonderful helpers.

There is a give-a-way, and this is my first.  Make sure I have your e-mail in your comment. That's all there is to it.  The winner will be announced on Feb. 15th.  If you don't respond by email allthingzsewn@gmail.com  within 48 hrs. another winner will be chosen.

The prize is a pattern by WWW.Fabric-Creations.com  "Spring Chickens"' along with the fabric, also by WWW.Fabric-Creations.com  You will need to only supply the sweatshirt or what ever else you may want to applique.

I'm just posting a few pictures because I know there are a lot of blogs to visit and friends to make.  These will give you an idea of what to expect here.

This is what we woke up to this morning, it's only an inch of snow but isn't it amazing how God can make it so beautiful.  Or at least I thought so, the girls thought otherwise, Mo came out  and went right back out.

I found these vintage blocks at a yard sale this fall, any suggestions of what to do with them

And this is a project that will be finished and posted in a blog hop  in a couple weeks.  It will be quite different from what you see here.

I would appreciate you taking a few minuets and leave a comment, don't forget your email address if your a no-reply.  Enjoy your visiting and making new friends with others in this blog hop.

Ending of a great year and a surprise win!

Ladies,  I truly enjoyed my first year of blogging with you all.   I learned a lot, laughed a lot and even cried with a few of you.  I'm looking forward to even a better New Year.  I finally retired.  The shop has not sold yet, but it will.  Don and I went to Bardstown Ky. to get away for a few days.  I found a shop there that will carry my dolls, bears and quilts plus Dons paintings.  That should keep us busy should we decide to do it.  I'm still wanting to try ETSY, even though my account is open I only have 4 items for sale.  But I can take care of that now that I'm home for good.

The atmosphere here is that of a small home town, which it is.  It has a lot of tourists though.  It is an bourbon county, which is also a good draw of tourists.

This was just a couple of the shops.  Don took me on a nite carriage ride to see the light-up Bardstown but none of the pictures turned out. Guess I had better get the old instruction book out again.

Don picked and preserved persimmons for Christmas cookies and pudding. Which he also bakes himself.  The girls just had to see what he had.

He did all the work by himself.  I was proud of him.  Well I did clean up the mess, but he gets better as he goes.  I think I'll try him out on cobbler this spring.

Pretty huh?

And now for the win.

Eileen, at  WWW.TheSeasonalHome.com had a Christmas contest and I won.  You will want to go to her web site and enjoy all the seasons decorating ideas.  She has a fantastic imagination and an eye for beauty, she just doesn't stop.   It will be an enjoyable visit and I bet you go back.  My lighting wasn't good because of the sun coming in the window but the boxes turned out pretty good.  I received $130.00 worth of Hallmark ornaments.  They are so cute, I'm sorry I couldn't do them justice.  Thank you very much Eileen for the give-away.

I thought this was a pretty good ending to 2014 year.  May God bless our next one.  I wish all of you a safe and Happy New Year.

Twas The Night Blog Hop

I can't believe Christmas is this close.  Hasn't this hop really helped to bring the season to the for front of our minds.  I'll have to admit I have only a few things made so far, but this has given me more ideas to try since some of them only take a short time to make and are so cute.

I want to thank Mdm. Sam and all of our cheer leaders for all the work and help they have put in this year to help us acquire more friends, skills, and enjoyment of those achievements.
A heart felt Merry Christmas
to all you ladies.

Jane at Janesquilting.blogspot.com
has made me a really sweet colorful wallet.  Which I will be able to  use all year long.  I like the fact that I will be able to wash it after much continued use.   The size is great because I don't carry an overly large purse,  The zipper compartment will be used to secure special items.  It even will hold store cards.  It will be carried until thread bare.  Thank you Jane.

Be sure and continue on to the next blogs of this week to see the creation of gifts and ideas that that are being shared.

The Ghastly Swap

Kathy at kwiltypleasures.blogspot.com had a Ghastlies fabric swap and the bloggers involved have out done themselves with their projects.  The mini wall hanging is what I sent to my swap partner Wendy at ThePrintedStitch.com

Then I received this lovely table topper from Melinda24.  I used the face of the mini quilt for Halloween .  And I'm using the back side for my fall table top.  I'm so pleased with the multi use
