Christmas In July

This is my first attempt at making the rope baskets,  they can be done so many ways.




We got some new girls, thought I would show their new eggs.

Where Flowers Bloom/ Second edit

Ok right off the bat I have had to edit my hop day post.  I have now been bitten by the blogger bug.  UGH!

On to the original post.

I decided to finish a couple of UFO blocks and design my own small quilt.
Well that didn't exactly happen.  But close. 
The blocks turned out pretty good and are from a BOM  I was in a couple of years ago.









This is the biggest mistake in the block below,  I did not have a pattern and just used a block I found on line  I can't believe I did notice.  It is almost 1/4 inch larger than the others.  Was suppose to be a 12 inch block, still haven't figured out what I did wrong.  You can see I tried to trim it.
and it is still to large and lost its points.


And as you can see the HST boarders is way off too.  Instead of trying to halve way fix it, I have decided to replace the block and and remake the  boarders.



When I rework this , I'll put a darker lavender binding on it.  I think it will be cute when finished.  So I'm going to take a break from it for a couple days and work on some Christmas projects.



I'm really into my plushies right now.  Trying to stay away from stress and deadlines.
And these keep me happily sewing in between quilts. I don't want to get out of the habit of finishing projects.

Wish Upon A Star Blog Hop


Hello All,
Yep, today is my day to share my star.  I went a little differently than most of the 
ladies.  Partly because of time as I had some health issues after I ask to be part of
this hop.   And Carol at  http://www.justletmequilt.com being the gracious lady that she is agreed that I could join in.  And secondly  I thought you might want to see something a little different and get a Christmas gift idea early in the year.  Most of you know I'm married to Santa so it's Christmas here  year around.  Notice the candy canes in the pocket.  He never leaves home without them.


Now onto the hop, yes I dared to share Christmas deco.  But if you look closely most patches have stars in them.




the backing is pine comes, I still need to fluff the lumps out.


Now we will see if your paying attention.  I will be giving away the pattern and fabric for this little stocking.

Hands 2 Help





I chose this foundation to send my quilt this year.  I will be sending some plushie animals soon  as well.  You might want to visit and learn a little more of their needs.  No matter the size of your pocket book , stash, or time there is a place  you can help.

Keep it simple is my mantra this year.
So without further ado here is my quilt.


 
The butterflies are free motion


I thought the kitties were cute.

Was having a little trouble with the tension for the boxed quilting..

I used flannel or the backing.


Meet Casper,  We fed her for almost 6 months before we saw her. She has been around for about 11 or 12 years now.  I'm still the only one who can pet her.  Don't think that is going to change at this late date.

Tea Cup and Mug Exchange

Hello Ladies.
I was so happy to participate in this exchange.  Thank you so much Stephanie for doing this again this year.
I must apologize for being late in my post, how every my partner did receive her package on time.
I also received a beautiful package a well.  I will share in a moment. 
I just got out of the hospital a few days ago with unexpected heart issues.  While I already have a stint the Doctor was surprised this was not the issue again after the heart chath.  My heart seem to be weak and not pumping enough blood through my system.  Medication seems to be helping but in 3 more weeks I'm to start cardio therapy exercises.  My point being would you please pray that this takes care of the situation and I'm able to get off the extra medication.  I also have 25 more lbs to loose.

Now on to the exchange,  I had a great partner  and I'm thrilled with my goodies. every thing was wrapped so prettily.

I did the mug group this year,  for a mug I think this is so lady like and beautiful.

 I use my coaster all the time.



While I did not mention every item, all will be used and are appreciated.
